Personally, unless Steam is having a great sale on a game I must have, I think I'll be switching the bulk of my purchases elsewhere./r/GameDealsMeta is a subreddit for PSAs, discussion, and questions relevant to the Game Deals community. I know Steam has some great sales, but looking at GamersGate right now the sales can be equally great. So why don't more people use these stores? Why are we suckers for a digital distribution platform that really doesn't do much (at least from my perspective) that's all that better an experience than these two? I have so many Steam games I just never pay anymore, nor have the desire to play. I'm not sure on the specifics of this as I'm just now diving in, but it's a great concept. GamersGate - Whenever you buy a game you earn "Blue Coins" which can then be used to buy new games when you've accumulated enough of them. Not only because their independent-ish, but because they have very unique perks: Now I know there are bigger stores besides these guys like GameFly (formerly D2D), Gamestop (formerly Impulse) and Origin, but I think these two really go above and beyond in being great stores that are more deserving than any of the above mentioned. Which brought me to two great stores which I don't think get nearly enough business, especially from our own reddit community: I mean it's super convenient and the sales are great.īut with the recent Steam/Valve issues and the fact that they're so dominant in the digital retail space I'm considering spreading out my purchases across more sites. So I'm a big fan of Steam, as I'm sure everybody else is here. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
